Çré Kumäradeva, the father of Çré Rüpa and Çré Sanätana Gosvämés, constructed a gorgeous rest house there. It is mentioned in Bhakti-ratnäkara,
jessore fateyavada name gräma haya
gatäyata hetu tätha karila aläya
“There was a village named Fateyavada in Jessore where he built a house for the convenience of communication between Rämakeli and Bakla-candradvépa.” (1.566)
Sri Rupa Goswami and Sanatana Goswami stayed there for some days. After meeting with Çré Caitanya Mahäprabhu in Rämakeli, they both decided to leave the home. Then Rüpa Gosvämé and Anupama came there with all family members from Rämakeli.
A small temple has been built to mark the place. There is an ancient tree there. Some say that Çré Rüpa and Çré Sanätana Gosvämés did bhajana there. There is an ISKCON temple near this place named Çré Rüpa-Sanätana Gosvämés Småti Tértha Temple. Çré Çré Rädhä-Madhan-mohan, Çré Çré Jagannätha Baladeva Subhadra, and Çré Çré Gaura-Nitai are being worshipped there.
How to Go There
Buses are available from Jessore (now known as Jashore) to Khulna. Get down at Premabag. The temple is walking distance. To go to the ISKCON temple, get down at Noapara and take auto-rickshaw.
