Although I am unborn and My transcendental body never deteriorates, and although I am the Lord of all living entities, I still appear in every millennium in My original transcendental form.

Though unborn and eternal, the Supreme Lord, by His free will and causeless mercy, incarnates to deliver the pious and annihilate the miscreants. Lord Krishna is worshipped in thousands of temples across the world. Some of them have special significance because  they are associated with the pastime places the Lord and others are important because of the aura of spirituality associated with them. Sri Krishna appeared over five thousand years ago in Mathura as the eighth child of Devaki and Vasudeva. The temples at Krishna’s pastimes places are located at Mathura, where Krishna was born, Vrindavana. where He spent most of His childhood days and Dwarka where He revealed most of His laterpastimes.

Lord Krishna is known by many different names in various traditions. The word “Krishna” means all attractive, one who is attractive to everyone. Historically, Sri Krishna appeared on the midnight of the 8th day of the dark half of the month of Bhadra.
