Inauguration of Bhaktivedanta Bhavan in ISKCON Savar

The Honorable High Commissioner of India to Bangladesh, Srimati Riba Ganguli Das, recently inaugurated the Bhaktivedanta Bhavan in Savar. This five story building, located at Sri Sri Kanailal Jiu Temple (ISKCON) Savar, was funded by the High Commission of India to Bangladesh.

Dr. Md. Enamur Rahman,  Member of Parliament and Honorable Minister of State of Disaster Management and Relief of Bangladesh, took part as the chief guest on the occasion.

Honorable Foreign Minister of India, Sushma Swaraj, laid the foundation of this building during her visit to Bangladesh in June 2017. Having five stories and seventy rooms, the modern facilities will be used as a Student Hostel, Orphanage and Retirement Home. At the inauguration of the program, the internationally renowned singer His Grace Krishna Kirtan Das Brahmachari and associates, performed melodious bhajan and kirtan.

Also participating in the program, many distinguished guests such as, Haji Md. Abdul Gony, Mayor, Savar Municipality, Dhaka, Md. Manzoor Alam Raib, Chairman, Savar Upozila, and Md. Abdus Sattar, councilor of word number 6, Savar Municipality, along with other government officials and officers of the Indian High Commission were present.

Delegates and special guests spoke during the inauguration of the new building. Srimati Riba Ganguly commented in her speech that India highlights Bangladesh, in all aspects, as a neighboring country connected through trades and culture. She expressed that India encourages and endorses companions of Sanatana religion, trades, business, as well as cultural programs of Bangladesh. Present for the program was His Holiness Bhakti Advaita Navadvip Swami Maharaja, the Vice President of ISKCON Bangladesh, who delivered welcome address, along with His Grace Shuddhya Sattva Govinda Das, the president of ISKCON Bangladesh, and His Grace Charu Chandra Das Brahmachary, General Secretary of ISKCON Bangladesh.
